UCEAP Alumni and Friends

Support UCEAP

Thank you for considering a gift to UCEAP.  Whether by check, credit card, securities or a bequest, your gift to UCEAP provides key support to students. Every gift counts and we thank you!

Cash and Checks

Direct cash gifts are the most common form of giving and can be unrestricted or designated.  Gifts made through the UC Regents are tax-deductible and are used for the purposes specified by the donor.

If you wish to mail your gift, please send a check made out to UC Regents to:

Development Office
University of California Education Abroad Program
420 South Fairview Ave., Suite 202
Goleta, CA 93117

Credit and Debit Cards

Donors may elect to make a gift via a charge to a credit or debit card. Cards accepted for donations include VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.  Make a secure credit or debit card gift online now or call 805.893.4233. For security reasons, do not leave your credit card information on voice mail or include it in an e-mail message.

Memorial and Honorary Gifts

A memorial gift can help perpetuate the values and ideals that guided someone's life. Honorary gifts commemorate a significant event or someone who is still living. Families of those so honored will be notified of your gift; the amount, however remains a private matter. If you are interested in making a memorial or honorary gift, please make sure to provide the appropriate information when you make or submit your gift. Making a gift in honor or in memory is easy using our secure online form.  For more information about our current memorial gifts in memory of Bill & Olivia Allaway and John Marcum, click here.

Securities

Gifts of appreciated securities are tax-deductible at full air-market value if the donor has owned the asset for at least 12 months.  Gifts are recorded based on the mean market value of the stock, bond or mutual fund on the date of gift, which is determined by the date the donor relinquishes control of the asset. To ensure proper disposition of the gifts, please alert UCEAP that a securities transfer has been made by notifying the Development Office. For additional stock instructions, click here.

Matching Gifts

More than 1,000 corporations, foundations and other organizations will match their employees' charitable contributions.  You receive full credit for your matching gift for the purpose of recognition. For receipting and tax reasons, the matched portion of the gift must be recorded on the corporations record.

Pledges

Pledges must be made in writing and include a commitment to a specific amount and payment schedule. Pledges may be paid over a period of five years from the time of the commitment in annual, semiannual or quarterly installments. Pledge reminders will be mailed on an agreed upon schedule unless requested otherwise. Pledge payment may be in the form of cash, credit and debit charges or by securities transfer.

Bequests

Your personal legacy can be a lasting legacy.  Consider an estate gift and make a commitment to ensuring the support of future UCEAP students. The UCEAP Legacy Society honors and recognized individuals who make a commitment to scholarship by including UCEAP in their estate plans.  If you have made such a provision, informing us of those plans enables us to properly express our gratitude.  Please note that information regarding the size or type of gift is not required. Sample Bequest language is available here. For more information on bequests, please contact Elizabeth Janis Perl at 805.893.4233.

Giving from Abroad

UCEAP welcomes gifts from international alumni and friends. Methods and tax benefits of giving to UCEAP vary from country to country. See Giving from Abroad for specific information for donors from Canada, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom and Europe.
